On June 23rd, the deepest coalbed methane horizontal well in China, Ningtan 1H well, successfully completed the large-scale segmented volume transformation construction of LT group coal and rock, and successfully explored the technology of ultra deep coalbed methane transformation in the Sichuan Basin, providing strong technical support for subsequent coalbed methane exploration in the Sichuan Basin.
The Ningtan 1H well is the first deep coalbed methane well risk exploration well deployed by Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company. The drilling purpose is to explore the gas potential and reservoir characteristics of the LT Formation coalbed strata in central Sichuan, in order to achieve new breakthroughs in coalbed methane exploration in the Sichuan Basin. The reservoir renovation of this well faces challenges such as thin and vertically discontinuous high-quality coal seams, high vertical interlayer stress, high embedding of soft plastic coal and rock, large filtration loss due to the development of bedding and cutting planes, and low construction windows at the wellhead, which pose great challenges to the reservoir renovation process, supporting renovation equipment, and fluids.
