Deep-seated gas exploration and development in Northwest China is gradually shifting towards super Deep oil and gas reservoirs. Most of these oil and gas reservoirs exhibit low porosity and low permeability with high temperature (up to 180°C) and high pressure (bottom pressure exceeding 160 MPa) with high H2S/CO2 content. Thus Acidizing operation is an important way to improve single well productivity. However, the down-hole pipes is subjected to extremely high risk of acid corrosion at such high temperatures and high acid concentrations (up to 28% hydrochloride acid concentration).
In order to solve the problem above and help operator successfully complete acidizing operation, Sichuan All-Chem worked closely with Operator’s R&D team and field operation team to obtain the most accurate requirements for Operators’ Cross-linked Acid and Gelling Acid performance data and field operation data. After several rounds of lab evaluation and field trial, we have successfully developed a new type High-temperature Corrosion Inhibitor AC-UT 180. The dynamic corrosion rate of N80 steel sheets was tested at 180°C by adding 5% AC-UT180 acidizing corrosion inhibitor to Cross-linked acid and Gelling acid with concentration 20% HCI. The pressure was 16 MPa, the speed was 60 r/min, and the time was 4 hours. The average corrosion rate of steel sheets in conventional acid is is lower than 70 g/(m2h), which meets the requirements of National Industry First-class standards, indicating good high-temperature corrosion inhibition performance.
After multiple successful field acidizing operations, High-temperature Corrosion Inhibitor AC-UT 180 has received high praise from Northwest China Deep-seated Gas Operators. Sichuan All-Chem has obtained Invention Patent Authorization(ZL202110319679.9) for AC-UT180 from State Intellectual Property Office.
