At the initial stage of shale gas blocks production in southwest China, there was no serious internal corrosion problem in the pipeline, and corresponding internal anti-corrosion measures were rarely taken. After one or two years of production, corrosion and perforation occurred in a large range in the pipeline, and the surface process pipeline and export gas production pipeline had corrosion and perforation problems in a relatively short time. Corrosion and perforation problems occurred three months after the production of surface process pipeline in some blocks, and corrosion and perforation occurred in export gas production pipeline at least nine months after the production. After the problem of corrosion perforation begins, a high incidence period of corrosion will soon occur, and corrosion perforation will occur on a large scale, causing a significant impact on production safety and stability.

Through research and analysis, the corrosion perforation of pipelines in Southwest China shale gas fields is mainly caused by Sulfate-reducing bacteria, and the existence of Cl- and CO2 promotes the occurrence of pitting corrosion. Therefore, Sichuan All-Chem has developed the Oil and Gas Well Corrosion Inhibitor AC-WSCI2 for high carbon dioxide content and water salinity conditions and can be used together with Sulfate-reducing bacteria bactericide to achieve better anti-corrosion effect. AC-WSCI2 is a new type of corrosion inhibitor that adsorbs onto the internal surface of pipelines through strong adsorption, forming an effective corrosion inhibitor film that prevents direct contact between corrosive media and pipelines, prevents corrosion from occurring and has a good inhibitory effect on carbon dioxide corrosion.

Sichuan All-Chem has obtained Invention Patent Authorization(ZL202110320298.4) for AC-WSCI2 from State Intellectual Property Office.
